And on the next day...

FOG!

I love the foggy/marine layer mornings!  They're cooler and often very beautiful as the morning light alternately penetrates or illuminates the cloud layers.

 The road up.

 Looking south.

 Guess who?!

 A dog and her human...

 Looking north/northeast.

A southern view again, with I. Mtn in the background.

I've taken lots of photos of this scene, sometimes with the dog, sometimes with city lights down below, and sometimes with a cloud layer obscuring everything!

 Fly, my little Hunny Bunny!

Zou poses in front of the fog fields.

The road into a neighboring town disappears beneath the clouds.

Mommy Longlegs and her Doggy Daughter.

 Intrepid Conqueror.

Another intrepid conqueror?
(yup, he's up on the famous p. c. rock!)

Me & Zou - on the rocks again...

Travel back in time with us, back to May 4, 2014.  Back before a wonderful summer spent in Colorado. Back to Bill's recovery period.  Back to when Zou and I were trying to find our feet once again too - literally and figuratively...

And back to Mt. W.    To early morning May light...

And to spectacular stones...

 Me and my shadow.

World's cutest dog.  And have I mentioned, The Best Dog?

 Her and her shadow.

 Our Avenue of Rocks.

 A key player.

 More cool rocks, off-trail.

 My sunlit sweet pea.

A gorgeous yucca (and somewhat rare coloration?  I'm not sure I've ever seen such pink blooms!).

These pictures make me very sad (and mad!).  It wasn't long after I took them that I found someone had slaughtered this plant.  Cut the stalk before the flowers even had the chance to go to seed.  Completely pointless waste. They didn't take the flowered end - just left all the broken remains at the scene of the crime.

Which is one of many reasons to take photos - to record that which may not exist anymore tomorrow...

Did I mention the cutest, best, sweetest, smartest,...yeah, yeah, I guess I did...

See us there?  In the rocks?

There we are!

Looking back at some gals headed down.

 Me and my girl.

Back at the Ave of Rocks, Zou provides her mum with a size indicator:  Little Dog dwarfed by Giant Egg!

The actual "Avenue" (aka, road) runs along on the left side, in the shadows.

She is a rock climber extraordinaire!  My little pup, whom I had to coax onto a one-ft tall leviathan boulder back when she was just starting her career...

We go down, they go up.  This pic is to show you just how steep this road is - for much of its 1.6 miles or so.
